The unpaid wage class action jury trial against Longwood Security Services is now scheduled to begin April 17, 2018 at 9:00 AM in courtroom 1309 of the Suffolk Superior Court in Boston. The trial was previously scheduled for January 9, and then rescheduled for February 6, but was rescheduled by the court at the request of the defendant, Longwood Security. The court is very unlikely to allow any further continuances of the trial date, and we expect the case to proceed to jury trial on April 17. The certified class action contends, among other things, that Longwood’s practice of requiring its employees to perform duties on unpaid breaks violated the Massachusetts Wage Act and Overtime Law.
